“AN OLD BROKEN HEART” Words & Music by John Koellisch Don't let one little thing like an old broken heart hang around to keep you down forever 'cause you're just holding on to the same old memories when you might make some new ones better It's alright to feel sad over old love gone bad but don't let it tear you apart Let go of an old broken heart Let go of an old broken heart It's a world full of hardship if you want to make it so and sometimes it leaves you feeling low You can stay in one place and wish the world away but it won't make the heartache go Go on feeling sad over old love gone bad but don't miss when new love may start Let go of an old broken heart Let go of an old broken heart Sometimes at night I lie in bed awake Wishin' I could stop your heartbreak If you want me to try I could stop on by but I won't know what to do it's really up to you Don't let one little thing like an old broken heart hang around to keep you down forever 'cause you're just holding on to the same old memories when you might make some new ones better Let go of an old broken heart Let go of an old broken heart © 2003 John Koellisch

“TILL THE HEARTACHE’S ALL GONE” Words & Music by John Koellisch One morning light, I'm gonna ride One morning light, I'm gonna ride I’ll keep on ridin' down that trail so long Till the heart-ache's all gone I’ll keep on ridin' down that trail so long... Till the heart-ache's all gone One golden day, I'll ride away One golden day, I'll ride away I’ll keep on ridin' down that trail so long Till the heart-ache's all gone I’ll keep on ridin' down that trail so long... Till the heart-ache's all gone And when I finally reach the end of that trail I’ll be so far away I won't be feelin' any pain ‘cause no one there will ever speak your name (Instrumental) One morning light, I'm gonna ride One morning light, I'm gonna ride I’ll keep on ridin' down that trail so long Till the heart-ache's all gone I’ll keep on ridin' down that trail so long... “Take My Heart” Words & Music By J. Koellisch You never gave me one single warnin' you might leave one day till I woke up one lonesome mornin' to find you slipped away You're the reason I opened up my soul ah - love take my heart and go You're the reason I opened up my soul ah - love take my heart and go (Instrumental) Was it in a look, or the way you held me after I turned out the light? In the lines of an old love letter or just a whisper in the night? “IN THE SHADOWS” Words & Music By J. Koellisch In the moonlight, on a dark night hidden feelings show When I hold you in my heart I'll know Do you want me? Do you need me? Should we break apart? Or can I hold you near my heart? If you'll meet me in the shadows Only then I’ll know Do I hold you? Do I let you go? In the daylight, what I see might tell my heart lies I can't believe what I see through my eyes In the moonlight, on a dark night you can never hide Just what you're feeling deep inside If you'll meet me in the shadows Only then I’ll know Do I hold you? Do I let you go? (Instrumental) The shadows show the traces hidden in sacred places Where a lover's heart embraces feelings deep inside Once you step out of the light your eyes won't deceive your sight In the shadows you can never hide In the moonlight, on a dark night hidden feelings show When I hold you in my heart I'll know Do you want me? Do you need me? Should we break apart? Or can I hold you near my heart? If you'll meet me in the shadows Only then I’ll know Do I hold you? Do I let you go? If you'll meet me in the shadows Only then I’ll know Do I hold you? Do I let you go? In the shadows only then I'll know In the shadows only then I'll know © 1982 John Koellisch

“CAN'T GET YOU BACK AGAIN” Words & Music by John Koellisch I don't even know your name, but I know I love you once upon a dream you came and you were gone like the princess from some fairy tale and when the clock struck midnight you slipped out of my sight and I just Can't Get You Back Again All in a one night stand and then it was over now back to reality and life goes on the same except at night in a pale moonlight through the dark sometimes I still see you but then you fade away and I just Can't Get You Back Again (Instrumental) Late at night in a pale moonlight through the dark sometimes I still see you but then you slip away and I just Can't Get You Back Again No, I just Can't Get You Back Again No, I just Can't Get You Back Again (Instrumental) © 1985 John Koellisch

“I’m Runnin' Away” Words & Music by John Koellisch Runnin' away, I'm runnin' away I'm always runnin' from you maybe someday I'll find the place I've been running to and there I will stay and stop runnin' away maybe I'll see something new to make me stay and find a way to stop runnin' away from you Runnin' away, I'm runnin' away and that's what I have to do I wish I could say, there's some other way so we could see this through But I'm Runnin' away, yes I'm runnin' away lord knows where I'm runnin' to 'til one day I'll find a way to stop runnin' away from you (Instrumental) Runnin' away, I'm runnin' away and that's what I have to do I wish I could say, there's some other way we could see this through But I'm Runnin' away, yes I'm runnin' away lord knows what I'm runnin' to 'til one day I'll find a way to stop runnin' away from you © 1968, 2020 John Koellisch

Triviality 03:50
“Triviality” Words & Music by John Koellisch I'm not perfect, you can tell me so sometimes somebody needs to let me know but, please don't ever let me go ‘cause I did some silly thing My imperfections get the best of me but my intentions are there to please So, please don't put an end to you and me over triviality Many reasons you may find None, I hope will ever change your mind I'd be sad if we left behind what seems to be our destiny It's always worth a second try to find some way you and I won’t end up sayin' good-bye over triviality No matter what I say or what I may never do I hope you can find a way to keep me here with you Things you tell me might slip by I'm not claiming that's an alibi But, let's never say good-bye over triviality No matter what I say or what I may never do I hope you can find a way to keep me here with you If something's wrong when I come home mistakes I will always own So, you and I don't end up alone over triviality © 2017 John Koellisch

“A Peaceful State of Mind” Words & Music By John Koellisch I'm a simple minded man not a dreamer of mighty plans I spend a lot of time just staring out windows Walking on beaches, chasing rainbows and just watching other people go You'll catch me on a corner with a pen in my hand Writing down lines defining what I can and sometimes the words even rhyme and the tempo of the song keeps time Riding away down a road in the county Pickin' up peaceful ways to live Finding a sunset to store in my memory Oh, oh, oh, that's the state of mind I'm in (Instrumental) Headin' down that county road with a sun sinkin' low Reflecting back on days I've seen go Thinkin' of all the ones I love and counting my lucky stars up above Riding away down a road in the county Pickin' up peaceful ways to live Finding a sunset to store in my memory Oh, oh, oh, that's the state of mind I'm in Riding away down a road in the county Pickin' up peaceful ways to live Finding a sunset to store in my memory Oh, oh, oh, that's the state of mind I'm in Oh Yeah... That's the state of mind I'm in © 1970 John Koellisch

Vagabond 05:00
“VAGABOND” Words & Music by John Koellisch I've always been the drifter caught in passin' headlight beams The nights are long, they lay me still lonesome in my dreams I guess I'm just a vagabond, been out here on this road too long Got no place to call my home, my friends have long been gone Once I thought I'd found the girl who'd make me settle down but soon my heart was turning to the road straight out of town Some things in life are strange but I've never been a stranger to The check-out from the next hotel while I'm just passin' through Most people find someone to lie beside when wakin' up For me that's just another dream I'll never see A lonesome hearted vagabond is all I'll ever be Well, lately I've been thinkin' back wishin' I had made better choices while out ramblin' along my way Now it's just this empty road holds all my memories They're blowin' down those dusty miles with the tumble weeds Guess I'll never get to know what a true love brings Have to stay a while in one place to have those things Some things in life are strange but I've never been a stranger to The check-out from the next hotel while I'm just passin' through Most people find someone to lie beside when wakin' up For me that's just another dream I'll never see A lonesome hearted vagabond is all I'll ever be Some things in life are strange but I've never been a stranger to The check-out from the next hotel while I'm just passin' through Most people find someone to lie beside when wakin' up For me that's just another dream I'll never see A lonesome hearted vagabond is all I'll ever be © 2004 John Koellisch

“Just One More Chance” Words & Music by John Koellisch If I try just a little bit more than I did before I started losing you Can I get just one more chance with you? If I'm shy just a little bit more than I was before I left you sad and blue Can I get just one more chance to do? What I should have done all along before I did everything all wrong and left you feeling so sad when I was gone Can I get just one more chance with you? (Instrumental) This time I will try to be true to everything that's right for you Is there anything more anyone can do? Can I get just one more chance with you? I'd like to get just one more chance with you © 2002 John Koellisch

Only A Night 03:44
“ONLY A NIGHT” Words & Music by John Koellisch It was only a night, a warm summer night neon light outshined by the moon When heaven made it a perfect night that ended all too soon It was only a dream, a star wisher's dream driftin' on down a bright moonbeam Must have brought some magic from the stars that night ‘cause I spent it holding you tight It was only a night (Instrumental) It was only a heart, a love-struck heart wounded by the light of day The sun came up and you were gone like an angel floating away It was only a night It was only a dream, a star wisher's dream driftin' on down a bright moonbeam Must have brought some magic from the stars that night ‘cause I spent it holding you tight It was only a night I could spend my whole life through dreamin' of one night with you Stop this world from spinning round the moon stays up and the sun stays down It was only a night… © 2002 John Koellisch

Wasted Again 04:04
“WASTED AGAIN” Words & Music by John Koellisch Wasted again You left me there hangin’ The night wasn’t even getting close to an end Wasted again You walked off without me into the dark of the night and left me lonesome and wasted again Wasted again I thought we were making some kind of progress Somehow we’d find a way to mend all of the pain we brought on each other but you walked off without me Now I’m lonesome and wasted again Some other night I’d be sleeping and all this would just be some bad dream and I could wake and still holding you… (Instrumental) Some other night I could reach out and take your hand in the dim light In the light of some other night… Wasted again You left me there hangin’ I could never be ready for all the time I would spend Wasted again You walked off without me into the dark of the night and left me lonesome and wasted again © 2004 John Koellisch

“The Lonely Boulevard” Words & Music by John Koellisch Last night I saw you as the dusk turned into darkness All of the light left in the sky seemed to focus just on you All of the colors grew more brilliant all around you As the moon beamed silver crests of diamond stars that danced and shimmered in the night With the magic of this lonely boulevard Then when I saw you from a distance at that moment I stopped in wonder over just how beautiful you are I got this feeling that I hope will last forever As the moon beamed silver crests of diamond stars that danced and shimmered in the night With the magic of this lonely boulevard I had to stay up as I kept wondering why What cosmic event caused those changes in the sky? This morning I looked for something written in the news but nothing explained what happened when I saw you (Instrumental) Last night I saw you as the dusk turned into darkness All of the light left in the sky seemed to focus just on you All of the colors grew more brilliant all around you As the moon beamed silver crests of diamond stars that danced and shimmered in the night With the magic of this lonely boulevard © 2007 John Koellisch

“A COWBOY’S HEART” Words & Music by John Koellisch There's a winding road down to an old poke town Since long ago they've held the rodeo The different folk come from miles around They love the rodeo down in that old poke town In the pale moonlight on a Friday night You can see camp fires twinkle like starlight And howl-in' at the moon comes a lonesome tune Played on an old guitar straight from a cowboy's heart (Instrumental) When the ladies hear that lonesome sound It melts their hearts as they gather 'round But that young cowhand only sings of the one He left her when the rodeo moved on In the pale moonlight on a Friday night You can see camp fires twinkle like starlight And howl-in' at the moon comes a lonesome tune Played on an old guitar straight from a cowboy's heart Nothing sings so true with a feelin' so blue Than that lonesome tune straight from a cowboy's heart Played on an old guitar straight from a cowboy's heart © 2005 John Koellisch

“MIDNIGHT TRAVELER” Words & Music by John Koellisch He's a midnight traveler, a holy rambler, his religion is his gun For it's the death he totes beneath his long black coat that will greet you when he comes To behold this stranger is to dance with danger Never cross him, never run For in a flash of light he will take your life. You won't see tomorrow's sun (Instrumental) Some say that he's a preacher's son, once kept a bible at his side but now it's death he totes beneath his long black coat and at midnight he does ride Like a ghost against a pale moonlight He haunts those who've called his hand Over the graveyard sites where his victims lie rides this midnight travelin' man (Instrumental He's a midnight traveler, a holy rambler He rides through these hills at night If you hear hoof of horse don't unbolt your doors and please don't turn out the light Some say that he's a preacher's son, once kept a bible at his side Now it's death he totes beneath his long black coat and at midnight he does ride Like a ghost against a pale moonlight, he haunts those who've called his hand Over the graveyard sites where his victims lie rides this midnight travelin' man Over the graveyard sites where his victims lie rides this midnight travelin' man Over the graveyard sites where his victims lie rides this midnight travelin' man © 1998 John Koellisch

“MASON DIXON LINE” Words & Music by John Koellisch Summer was just over back in 1864 Our family was torn apart by the nation’s war I remember when it began we chose who we’d fight for My brother and I both believed all men should be free But on other matters we just never could agree He swore the north should not decide the southern decree So when we enlisted we both took different sides Though all along we never thought one of us could die I still can hear his words when he said his last goodbye He said, “I’ll meet you at the Mason Dixon Line” “I will meet you at the Mason Dixon Line” The war proved to be longer than anyone could have said And both sides paid too high a price carrying home the dead Still that never seemed to change a mind in one stubborn rebel head My brother survived Gettysburg where we turned around the war And back at Cold Harbor in June of ‘64 I swear I saw the colors of the uniform he wore “I’ll meet you at the Mason Dixon Line” “I will meet you at the Mason Dixon Line” A cold wind chilled through the night when I heard Richmond fell They sent no messenger but somehow I could tell That’d be the last we’d ever hear one young rebel yell Years after the buildings were burned and the smoke had cleared away And many old wounds had healed from that fateful day He got a new headstone and on it the words did say “I’ll meet you at the Mason Dixon Line” “I will meet you at the Mason Dixon Line” “I will meet you at the Mason Dixon Line” © 1997 John Koellisch
